The Netherlands Bar Association maintains a register of main and sub-fields of law in which a lawyer has specialized after completing their traineeship. Lawyers are required to register in this fields-of-law register.

On the basis of this registration, they are required to obtain ten training points each calendar year, according to the standards of the Netherlands Bar Association, for every registered main field of law.
